Books and technology. What a powerful combination!
My name is Mrs. Giesen and this is my second year as a media specialist at Rosa Parks. It is a pleasure to work with the Rosa Parks students and staff.
Each class visits the media center for one fifty minute period each week. During this time classes do a variety of activities in both the computer lab and media center. The focus is on giving students the opportunity to develop skills in accessing, processing and presenting information. Enrichment and recreational reading are also a part of media classes.
The media curriculum focuses on three major areas: Digital Citizenship, Research and STEAM. A major component of all areas is empowering students to become ethical, effective users of information, whether it be electronic or print.
